When it comes to quality the Vox amp is a powerful and rugged model. They provide a superior sounding tone and are commonly used in live concerts from some great bands as well as some studio records, one such track is “What I Like About You” as performed by the Romantics. From Country Acts to Rock Gods these are popular choices for most guitar players.

In 1958 the very first Vox amplifier was created, and it instantly became popular. From its option to have not only an effects channel available but a normal one that consisted of an internal vibrator with a tremolo it had for the time a revolutionary range that was not only portable but compact enough bands could easily travel with it.

During this time a popular ground known as The Shadows adopted the Vox amp and made it a legendary item. The makers of the Amp noticed the popularity and quickly created two less expensive solutions to help capitalize on the independent market as well.

The first three models were then released as the AC4, AC10 and finally the AC15. The AC4 was ahead of its time offering a full 4 amps of power through 6 inch loud speakers. While the AC 10 delivered the power with 10 inch speakers.

As rock ‘n roll continued to grow in popularity so did the power needs of the amps. Without much time lapse the AC30 was crafted, and had the power to full stadiums and dancehalls with superior sound quality. This way the guitar player could be heard over the screaming fans and the drummer blasting away behind them.

In 1961 the Vox amp had its strongest set of supporters that cemented the units into history. The Beatles began to play with these legendary speakers during their course of power, starting with AC15′s and the quickly began to increase to the AC30 on up.

Thanks to the regained interest in the Vox amplifiers the T60 bass amp was crafted and began to offer a more wide scale offering to listeners. This transistor amp was created with components that would become revolutionary for their time, while units remained compact.

As the demand grew for these units, Vox wanted to add an additional speaker set to help those moving up through their products get more acquainted and comfortable with using them and they created the AC30/6. It was a midway point that wasn’t intended to have the popularity it would soon hold. Since it worked best with electric bass guitars it become a must have for all the best guitarists wanted their instruments to be represented with excellent equipment.

However there was a small problem that led to another exciting feature. The bass guitar would damage the units because of the frequency vibration. This problem with the Vox amp was quickly rectified by the addition of a third amp in the units.

This technology has remained true of the years with minor adjustments made to enhance the tone and power of the units as technology has advanced, but the basic principals have remained the same. Even though Vox amplifiers have changed owners over the last few years the focus still remains on a quality product that delivers excellent sound.
